Against this backdrop, unlicensed drivers of Cox’s Bazar have vowed to follow traffic rules on the roads. They sought cooperation from police to get license without hassle.
Cox's Bazar's newly-appointed Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasanuzzaman has started an exceptional public awareness campaign. In order to ensure road safety and reduce traffic congestion, public awareness meetings have been held with unregistered CNG auto-rickshaw owners and unlicensed drivers.
From the meeting, he immediately gave various instructions including licensing unlicensed drivers, keeping cars in designated parking lots, registering unregistered vehicles. The new police superintendent also announced that the police will cooperate without any money to do these works.
He said the Cox's Bazar district police would extend all possible assistance to vehicle owners and drivers to reduce traffic congestion in the city and make the roads in Cox's Bazar district safer. Please let him know if there is any kind of harassment while registering the license and vehicle.
The public awareness meeting was held on Sunday at conference room of Cox's Bazar District Police Line. At that time, more than two hundred unlicensed owners of unregistered CNG auto-rickshaws were present.
