Local lawmaker Abul Kalam Azad Tuesday stressed concerted efforts of all government and non-government organisations to ensure healthcare services to the patients particularly the marginalized and disadvantaged ones.
“We have to work hard to uplift the healthcare services at the hospital. We know the problems or limitations of hospitals, so we have to find solutions and try to overcome those,” he said.
The Lawmaker said this while addressing at the management committee meeting of 250-bed Jamalpur General Hospital at its administrative building yesterday.
Abul Kalam Azad, also the chairperson of the hospital management committee, further said we have to go forward with proper planning to solve each issue like emergency department, outdoor, patient admission, presence of doctors and nurses, ambulance service and adequate supply of medicines at the hospital.
He also stressed on proper cleaning of the hospital compound.
Deputy Commissioner Md Shafiur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Anowar, Mayor of Jamalpur Municipality Md Sanowar Hossain, Acting Civil Surgeon Dr Aktaruzzaman, Assistant Director of the Hospital Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, President of Jamalpur Town Awami League (AL) Masum Reza Rahim and NGO Representative Zahangir Selim spoke, among others, at the meeting.
