Unique ID in e-commerce soon

To bring stability to the digital commerce (e-commerce) sector, the authority concerned will launch Unique Business ID (UBID) next month. All e-commerce traders will come under UBID registration. Besides those who are doing business on social platforms will also come under this article.

The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak disclosed the information while briefing reporters at the ICT department’s conference room on Wednesday. 

He was reviewing the progress on the works of the current construction of the platform initiatives undertaken by the Commerce Ministry to bring stability in the digital commerce sector and with the technical assistance of the ICT department. 

The state minister said, “If there are any grievances against a registered organization, the grievance redressal process can be settled through Central Logistics Management System (CCMS).”

Meanwhile, an app called ‘Binimoy’ is going to be launched for transactions on digital platforms. This app will be launched in February as well. With this app you 

can send money from bKash to Nagad, Sure Cash to Upay or MFS from any merchant account, money to any bank account from Digital Wallet. It will also be launched next March.” 

“Central Logistics Tracking Platform (CLTP) will be launched later for the convenience of customers. Through this platform the customer will be able to see the product condition or how long it will take to get it in their hand,” added the state minister. 

“We could not complete the app on time as the responsibility of development was in the hands of the postal department. If the postal department is not able to complete this within next seven days, we will take it and build it in the next 6 months,” Palak added.  

Palak further said, “The lack of trust, credibility and transparency in digital business will be overcome by building a strong platform using technology. We are able to successfully implement the promise made by the Prime Minister to build a digital Bangladesh.” 

The meeting was chaired by ICT Department Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam while A2i Policy Advisor Anir Chowdhury, A2i Technical Head Rezwanul Haque Jami, e-Cab Director and Chal Dal co-founder Zia Ashraf, Commerce Ministry e-Commerce Cell Joint Secretary Saeed Ali and other ministries and e-commerce representatives’ were present.
