Unemployed NTRCA registered teachers begin strike July 15

Non Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) registered unemployed teachers announced a strict program starting July 15. They want the government to recruit the 1-17th batch of teachers who passed their exams but are still not hired.

This announcement was made at a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club on July 8. The leaders of the NTRCA Registered Unemployed Teachers Forum organized the press conference.

The leaders said they passed the exam and got their certificates, proving their qualification. However, there are over 100,000 vacant posts, but they are still not hired. They blame this on mismanagement and lack of goodwill from the NTRCA and the Ministry of Education.

Many of these qualified teachers are working part-time or in non-MPO schools, colleges, madrasas, or technical schools. They believe hiring them will benefit both the government and the unemployed teachers.

In March, the NTRCA chairman promised to discuss their issues with the Education Minister after Eid if they paused their protests. However, he has not kept this promise, and now says the Education Minister does not agree.

The leaders warned that if there is no announcement of their appointment by July 15, they will start a stricter program in front of the NTRCA Borak Tower office. They also called for the attention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The press conference was attended by leaders Neelima Chakraborty, Nasreen Sultana, Jannatul Ferdowsi, Kamrul Islam, Sirajul Islam, Dulal Nia, Rakibul Huda, Mahmuda Khatun, Gana-Suman Das, and others.
