Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer's forum organized its two day-long conference for the first time since its debut, at Hotel Intercontinental in Capital which ends on Thursday.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque inaugurated the conference as chief guest on Wednesday, when Mohammad Ebadul Karim Bulbul MP, and the Managing Director of Beacon Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Lokman Hossain Miah, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Planning, Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, President of Bangladesh Medical Association, Prof Dr. M Iqbal Arslan, President of Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (SWACHIP), Dr Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury, General Secretary of BMA, Dr. M A Aziz, General Secretary of Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (SWACHIP), were present as special guest.
The forum started its journey in 2017 with the commitment of public-oriented health service.
Dr Abul Bashar Mohammed Khurshid Alam, Director General of Directorate General of Health Service presided over the programme, where a total 493 UH&FPO participated.
In his speech, Zahid Maleque highlighted that government recruited a total of 15 thousand doctors, and 20 thousand of nurse in health sector to develop the quality of country health service in last two years. During the time, he appreciated all health and family planning officers role to develop the quality of government health service in upazila level.
At the time, Convener of UH&FPO forum brought several kinds of limitation of upazila health complex, and the BMA president emphasizes to enact doctor's protection law.
Notably, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers Forum started its journey in 2017 with the commitment of public-oriented health service, and this was the first ever conference held since its debut.
