University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. Dr. S.M.A. Faiz has urged universities across Bangladesh to utilize the Apostille online platform for attesting students' educational certificates, particularly those seeking higher studies and employment abroad. Speaking as the chief guest at a workshop held at the UGC auditorium in Agargaon, Prof. Faiz highlighted how Apostille could streamline the certificate attestation process, saving students both time and money while reducing the physical and financial burden typically associated with document attestation.
Prof. Faiz emphasized that transitioning to the Apostille platform could help reduce the suffering and hassle faced by students and their families. “The Apostille platform offers a modernized approach to attestation, which is crucial for ensuring the ease and efficiency of students planning to pursue studies or careers outside Bangladesh,” he noted.
The workshop featured several notable speakers, including UGC Members Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan and Prof. Dr. M Anwar Hossen, as well as Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Syed Masud Mahmood Khandaker. The discussion focused on how Apostille could facilitate secure and internationally recognized attestation of documents.
The event was chaired by UGC Director Md Omar Faruque, with Dr. Shah Mohammad Tanvir Mansur, Director General of the Foreign Ministry, and UGC Secretary Dr. Mohammad Fakhrul Islam also speaking. They discussed the importance of adapting to digital solutions like Apostille for certificate attestation to align with global standards.
The UGC aims to ease the process for students and support the growing number of Bangladeshis seeking opportunities abroad through such digital advancements in administrative services.
