The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued guidelines instructing Vice-Chancellors of both public and private universities to allow protesting students to return to their studies, following directives from the Supreme Court's Appellate Division.
In a circular signed by UGC Secretary Ferdous Zaman on Thursday, the directive emphasises: All protesting students are urged to resume their academic activities and focus on their studies; The Court expects university authorities to facilitate the return of students and ensure a conducive educational environment; Students involved in protests may submit their statements through legal representation, which will be considered by the court during the petition's disposition. The UGC urges compliance with these court observations and instructions to maintain academic continuity amidst ongoing protests.
