Universal College Bangladesh (UCB) has launched a new degree programme in collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), offering students in Bangladesh the opportunity to earn full UK honours degrees in Business and Marketing. An orientation session was held recently at UCB’s campus to welcome students and guardians.
The programme, which spans three years, allows students with HSC, IB, or A2 Levels to complete their studies entirely in Bangladesh. Admission for the programme is open for the next 10 days.
The orientation featured prominent academic figures, including Shabaz Ali Mahmood, Lecturer in Digital Marketing at UCLan, Professor Hew Gill, President and Provost of UCB, and Professor Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs at UCB. Attendees were briefed on the curriculum, which mirrors UCLan’s UK programme, ensuring students receive the same degree certificates as their UK counterparts.
Professor Hew Gill highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration unlocks global opportunities for Bangladeshi students while maintaining affordability and accessibility. Together with UCLan, we are setting new standards for excellence.”
Shabaz Ali Mahmood emphasized the programme’s benefits, noting, “UCLan’s degree eliminates borders and barriers, equipping students with the skills for top-paying jobs.”
During the session, Shafik Waes, Deputy Registrar, discussed academic policies, while Marzia Al-Hakeem, Student Support Head, provided insights into student life at UCB. A separate session by Professor Gill and Parent Engagement Executive Samia Salam detailed how parents will remain informed about their children’s academic progress.
UCLan’s curriculum is internationally recognized, with 5 QS Stars for internationalization and inclusiveness. Ranked in the top 7% of global universities by the Centre for World University Rankings, UCLan degrees prepare students for advanced studies and global career opportunities.
