Opener of the U-19 World Cup Final, Youth Tiger Parvez Hossain Imon was accorded a grand reception at his hometown of Begumganj Upazila under Noakhali district on Sunday. Ismael Feroz Foundation organised the reception at the play ground of Chhayani High School for the opener whose team brought a rare honour for Bangladesh by enshrining the team as the world champion.
Opener Imon arrived at the venue of the function through a motor bikecades procession in the afternooon when hundreds of jubilant crowd congratulated him by waving their hands. He was adorned with floral wreaths and crests by students and renowned persons of the areas at the function.
Presided over by Ismael Hossain, Chairman of Ismael Feroz Foundation, the function was addressed, among others, by Alamgir Hossain, Head Master of Chhayani High School Alamgir Hossain, UP Chairman Shahadat Hossain Jashim, BKSP Coach irfanur Zaman Sohag and Imon's elder brother Faisal Hossain.
After the function, Parvez Hossain Imon informed the journalists that he would like to play in the national team in future. Youngest among three brothers and sisters, Imon is son of Siraj Babul and Kusum Akhter couple of Chhoto Shib Narayan village under Chhayani Union.
