Bangladesh, who bounced back in their AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifying campaign with a 1-0 win against Philippines in Phnom Penh, will play their second match today against Macao.
Bangladesh saw the setback in their first match when they went down to hosts Cambodia by a solitary goal but boosted up after winning the second match against Philippines ahead of today’s match.
Bangladesh is placed in the Group B along with Afghanistan, the strongest sides in the group defeated Macao by 9-0 on the same day when they (Bangladesh) defeated Philippines by a solitary goal. Afghanistan also demolished Phippines by 8-0 in their opener of the competition.
Today’s match is more than crucial for Bangladesh to remain in contention to cross the hurdle of the group phage, as they conceded defeat in the first match and will have to face the strongest side of the group Afghanistan.
Bangladesh booters have no any other options but to win the today’s match to keep their hope alive to move forward to the next phase of the competition.
Meanwhile, the champions and the best five runners up teams from the qualifying round will advance to the AFC Under-17 final phase.
