Two-year-old twin brothers tragically drowned while playing beside the pond at Siddhipasha village under Siddhipasha union in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Hasan (2) and Hussain (2), sons of Majed Sheikh of Siddhirpasha village.
Majid Sheikh's brother, local UP member Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, said Hasan and Hussain, were playing beside the ponds near their house in the afternoon.
Their mother started searching for the two children around 3.00 pm. At one stage she saw two boys floating in the pond.
The family members rushed them to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Abhaynagar Police Station OC Tajul Islam confirmed the news.
