Two fishermen went missing as a fishing trawler capsized due to stormy weather in the deep sea in Cox’s Bazar.
A total of 25 boatmen and fishermen managed to swim ashore on that time. However, two fishermen went missing in the incident.
The incident happened at Gulirdar Point in the Bay of Bengal on Friday. The owner of the trawler, Ayer Mohammad Prokash Goramia, confirmed the matter on Sunday morning.
Goramia said the fishing trawler, FV Mayer Doa, was sailed in the sea for fishing after a fishing ban of 65-day. The weather started being rough on Friday. At one stage, the trawler capsized in the night on that day. The fishermen and boatmen of the trawler swam for around 7 to 8 hours. Later, other fishing trawlers came forward and rescued 25 boatmen and fishermen.
He also said two of the fishermen of the trawler went missing in the incident. The rescued staff of the trawler returned by other trawlers on Saturday night.
