In a joint effort to support the people affected by the ongoing floods in the country, two ministries donated fund to the chief adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, and the Ministry of Water Resources have collectively contributed Tk. 9,324,302 to the chief advisor's relief fund.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has donated 46 lakh 64 thousand taka, while the Ministry of Water Resources has donated 46 lakh 60 thousand taka to support flood-affected people. The fund was raised through the one-day salary donations of officers and employees of the two ministries and their affiliated departments.
Among the contributors of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Secretariat provided Tk. 111,880, the Forest Department Tk. 3,500,000, the Department of Environment Tk. 335,045, the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation Tk. 315,301, the Bangladesh Forest Research Institute Tk. 303,122, the Bangladesh National Herbarium Tk. 40,471, the Bangladesh Rubber Board Tk20,590, and the Bangladesh Climate Change Trust Fund Tk. 37,652.
Among the contributors of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Secretariat donated Tk. 104,050, the Bangladesh Water Development Board Tk. 4,300,000, the Water Resources Planning Organization Tk. 67,715, the Haor and Wetland Development Directorate Tk. 22,200, the River Research Institute Tk. 145,000, and the Joint Rivers Commission Tk. 21,276.
