Two people were killed in two separate road accidents in Shuvolya area under Fatehpur union and Deohata area under Gorai union of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail on Monday.
One of the deceased was identified as Sonamuddin, 70, resident of Kotbohuria village under Bohuria union. Identity of another deceased could not be known. Police said an unknown person aged around 65 was crushed under the wheels of a bus in Shuvolya area under Fatehpur union of the upazila on Dhaka-Tangail highway at around 9:00am. On the other hand, Sonamuddin was killed after being crushed when he was crossing the road in Deohata area under Gorai union of the same Upazila at around 10:45am. Gorai Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anisuzzaman said the bodies of the deceased were recovered after hearing the news of the accident. The bodies will be handed over to their family members after completing the legal procedure.
