Two killed in Sirajganj road accident

Two passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and three others were injured when a truck hit the auto rickshaw on Sirajganj-Rayganj regional road Alampur area of Bahuli Union in Sirajganj on Friday. 

The injured were rescued and admitted to hospital. One of them is in critical condition. 

The deceased were identified as Saad, 23, son of Maulana Abu Talha of Muktargaanti village of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila and Mahadev Chandra Saha, 60, son of Jogesh Chandra Bose, resident of Hat Pangasi village of Raiganj Upazila of the district.

Two of the injured are Jharna Rani, 55, wife of Jogesh Chandra and Shah Alam, resident of Bahuli village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter and said the truck hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area at around 9:30pm, leaving two dead and three others injured. 

The bodies of the deceased were kept in hospital morgue. The injured have been rescued and admitted to the hospital. We are trying to seize the truck, he added.  On-duty doctor of Sirajganj 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital, Faisal Ahmed, said a total of four people were brought here. Among them, Saad and Mahadev died before they were brought here. Among the injured, Jharna Rani's condition is critical. She has been sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
