Two people, including a musician of the 'Odd Signature' band, were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a microbus on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Panchdona Dream Holiday Park area of the district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as microbus driver Abdus Salam, 43, son of Ashraf Ali of Nandail area of Mymensingh district and Ahasan Tanveer Piyal, 23, a vocalist and guitarist of 'Odd Signature' band.
The accident occurred in the area when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Hanif Paribahan from Sylhet collided head-on with a Sylhet-bound microbus coming from the opposite direction around 5:30am this morning, leaving the driver of the microbus and passenger Ahasan Tanveer Piyal dead on the spot and three others injured, in-charge of Itakhola Highway Police Elias Hossain said.
The injured were taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, he added.
Police recovered the bodied from the spot and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Police seized the bus, Hossain said.
