Police recovered hanging bodies of two housewives from Sabujbagh and Mugda areas of the capital on Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Ayesha Begum (25) and Mitu Rani Das (28).
The bodies were recovered at about 9:00am and 3:00pm and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hopital Morgue for autopsy. Sub Inspector of Mugda Police Station Sheikh Enamul Karim said, "We recovered the hanging body of a housewife named Mitu Rani Das from a house named ‘Nurjahan Villa’ at South Mugda in the morning.
Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
He also said that the victim's husband is a Kuwaiti expatriate. In the morning, her mother-in-law brought the victim’s daughter to school. After returning home, the mother-in-law found the door of the room closed.
She then informed the matter to the landlord and they found the housewife hanging after breaking the door.
The reason of death will be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem report.
In another incident, police recovered the hanging body of a housewife named Ayesha Begum from Sabujbagh area of the capital.
Sub Inspector (SI) Rubina Awal of Sabujbagh Police Station said that after receiving the information, we recovered the body of a woman named Ayesha Begum from the house number 120 Ahmedbagh of Sabuj Bagh.
Later, the body was sent to the DMC morgue for autopsy.
Quoting her relatives, she said that the victim hanged herself from the ceiling following family dispute. Later, we recovered the body.
