Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested two members of the banned Islamist outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir from Turag area in the capital on Friday.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of the DMP, confirmed the matter. He, however, did not provide details about the arrestees.
Earlier on October, the CTTC arrested the banned outfit’s media coordinator Imtiaz Selim from from Bashundhara residential area in Dhaka.
Earlier, on October 21, 2009, the government banned all kinds of activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh in the interests of public security.
