Police detained two drug peddlers with 3 kg of hemp from Chor Bajra East Para area under Bajra union in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram on Sunday.
The detainees were identified as Mofiqul Islam, 45, son of late Azizul Islam, and Mominul Islam, 32, son of late Solaiman Ali, both residents of Naodanga village in Fulbaria upazila of the district.
The police said acting on a tip-off, a team of Ulipur Police Station detained them from Char Bajra East Para area under Bazra union on Sunday morning. The 3 kg of hemp was attached with their body in a special way when they were detained at 10:30am.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ulipur Police Station Abu Bakkar Siddique confirmed the matter. He said a case was filed against the detainees under The Narcotics Control Act and they were sent to jail on Sunday noon.
