Detective Branch (DB) has arrested two youths named Hanif Sabuj (26) and Sohel (27) in a raid in Gopalpur Union of Noakhali's Begumganj Upazila. At that time 160 pieces of Yaba were seized from them.
The accused arrested on Sunday have been sent to jail after filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act. The arrested are Hanif Sabuj, son of Yusuf Miah of East Kalikapur village and Sohell, son of Tabarak Ullah of the same area.
According to police, a team of detectives raided Kalikapur area of Gopalpur Union on Saturday night as part of a drug rescue operation. Hanif Sabuj and Sohail, a well-known drug dealer in the area, were arrested along with 160 pieces of Yaba from the area at that time.
District DB Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam confirmed the matter and said that there was a warrant in a previous case against Hanif Sabuj among the arrested accused. A case has been filed against them at Begumganj Model Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
