Nine friends from Firoz Shah Colony of Akbar Shah Thana area of Chittagong went to visit Rupsi Jharna in Mirsarai. Two of them returned home as dead bodies. When they went missing last Sunday afternoon, the bodies were recovered from the fountain at 9:30 pm.

Polly Akhter, the wife of the elder brother of the deceased tourist Abshar, said that on Sunday morning, nine friends went to visit the red fountain of Mirsarai from Akbar Shah area. In the evening I came to know that Abhar and Arif could not be found. Later at 9 pm the news came that their bodies were recovered. Abchar is the youngest among three brothers.

Mohammad Arman, a friend of the deceased tourists Arif and Abshar said, On Sunday morning, we 9 friends came from Chittagong city to see Barakamaldah Rupsi Jharna. We all went up to the shower. When I got down from the shower at 3:30 in the afternoon, I did not find Abhar and Arif and searched around a lot.

After reporting the matter to the ticket counter, they informed the fire service. The fire service personnel came and recovered their bodies from the shower head.

Imam Hossain Patwari, station officer of Mirasrai Fire Service and Civil Defense said, I rushed to the spot after receiving the news that two tourists were missing in Rupsi Jharna. After that, their bodies were recovered from the water tank by carrying out an operation. He further said that it is believed that they drowned by falling into the water tank from the shower due to not knowing how to swim.
