Two die in Chuadanga road accident

Two people were killed in a bike accident in Joyrampur Kathaltoka area under Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday. Two of the riders of the bike were also injured during the accident.

The deceased were identified as Badshah, 20, a HSC examination candidate of Alamdanga Government College, son of Saiful Islam, resident of Chokpara area under Alukdia union in Chuadanga Sadar upazila, and Alauddin Ala, 42, a trader, son of Hashem Ali Molla, resident of Joyrampur Kathaltola area in Damurhuda upazila of the district.

The incident occurred around 9:15pm on the day. UP member of ward no. 2 of Hawli union Sabina Yasmin said three people, including Badshah, were going to Chuadanga riding on a motorcycle. Badshah was riding the bike at a high speed. When they reached at Joyrampur Kathaltola, the motorcycle hit a pedestrian, Alauddin Ala, who was crossing the road. As a result, the three riders of the motorcycle fell on the road and were critically injured.

Later, the locals rescued them and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Arafat Islam said a youth named Badshah was killed in a road accident in Joyrampur. He died before he was brought to the hospital.

On duty medical officer at the emergency department of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital Dr Al Imran Jewel said the patient named Badshah was brought dead. Treatment was given to two other injured. However, Alauddin Ala was referred to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, Alauddin Ala’s cousin Abdul Halim said Alauddin Ala was taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital for treatment where he died at around 2:30am on Saturday.
