Two persons were killed in a road accident in Brahmanbaria's Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
The accident took place around 7 am at Uttar Suhilpur area on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway.
The deceased were Abdul Hai, 50, a resident of Noapara area of the town, and Junayed, 27, of Bihair village under Sadar Upazila.
According to locals, a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw from Brahmanbaria town was going towards Khantihata via the Cumilla-Sylhet highway with four passengers including the two deceased. On the way, the auto-rickshaw stopped at Uttar Suhilpur Road to pick up passengers. At that time, a truck ran over the auto-rickshaw from behind. Abdul Hai died on the spot and three others were injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Junayed dead.
Khantihata Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandra Biswas confirmed it.
