A two-day digital innovation fair has been inaugurated in Noakhali with the slogan 'Udbhavani Joyollase Smart Bangladesh' and with the aim of building digital and smart Bangladesh. 33 government and 15 private institutions and entrepreneurs displayed their digital services at the fair.
Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the fair at Noakhali Art Academy on Wednesday morning. After the inauguration, a discussion meeting was held in the auditorium of Shilpakala Academy.
Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman spoke as the chief guest in the discussion under the chairmanship of Additional District Commissioner (General) Israt Sadmin.
District Police Superintendent was the special guest. Shahidul Islam, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Shafiul Alam and others.
Speakers said that with the aim of building a digital and smart Bangladesh, the current government is making relentless efforts to ensure the best use of information technology, build technical infrastructure, facilitate citizen services, and provide cooperation in innovative initiatives. The election manifesto of 2008 started a dream called Digital Bangladesh. This dream is realized with the implementation of 'Rupkalpa 2021'. Accordingly, a new target has been set to build 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041. Last August, the 'Smart Bangladesh Task Force' was formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. On May 11, 2018, Bangladesh became the 57th country in the world to launch its own satellite 'Bangabandhu Satellite-1' into space.
In this progress of development, various digital services including e-documents, e-namzari, e-challan, online tax return, e-GP (tender), online utility bill payment have been adopted as part of 'digital transformation'.
