Two-day book fair concludes at RAOWA Club

The two-day book fair at RAOWA Club in Mohakhali, Dhaka, concluded on Saturday, November 23. Organized by the Retired Armed Forces Officers’ Welfare Association (RAOWA), the fair ran successfully on Friday and Saturday, drawing a large number of book lovers.

Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque, who also serves as the President of Bangla Academy, inaugurated the event as the chief guest. In his address, he commended the initiative for encouraging literary pursuits among retired military officers and fostering a culture of reading.

This year’s fair featured books authored by retired military officers, alongside publications from renowned publishing houses. Visitors explored a wide array of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and biographies, appealing to diverse literary tastes.

Open to the public from 10 am to 9 pm on both days, the fair created an engaging environment for readers, authors, and publishers to connect. Attendees appreciated the unique contributions of retired officers, who brought their distinct experiences and perspectives into their writing.

Organizers emphasized the significance of the fair in bridging the military and literary communities, fostering creativity and intellectual exchange. They expressed satisfaction with the enthusiastic participation and the positive response from visitors.
