Two children drowned in separate places in Chandpur's Hajiganj upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were Raisa Akter, 2, a resident of Mokimabad Bepari village under Hajiganj municipality, and Yamin, 2, of Kangaish Miji village of the municipality.
According to family, Raisa used to live with her mother at her maternal house. She drowned in a pond next to the house in the afternoon.
On the other hand, Yamin has been missing since 12 pm. Later, his body was found floating on the water of a pond near their house.
Golam Mawla Naeem, Health Officer of Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex, said the two children died before being brought to the hospital.
Hajiganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdur Rashid confirmed the news.
