Two bodies recovered in Cox’s Bazar

Bodies of two youths were recovered by police personnel at a shrimp enclosure at Khurushkul in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Khalek, son of Jamal and M Yeasin, son of Abu Taher, residents of Monupara village under Khurushkul union of the district.

Two workers of the shrimp enclosure were taken to police custody in the incident.

Local Union Parishad (UP) member Nasir Uddin said there were several allegations against the deceased. Locals assume that the duo might have been killed due to electrocution when they came to steal at the shrimp enclosure.

Khurushkul UP Chairman Shahjahan Siddique said we went to the spot after receiving information from village police. Several signs of electric shock were noticed in their bodies.

One of the deceased Yeasin’s mother said that her son went out of the house at 10:00pm Thursday. His body was found on Friday morning. She did not have any idea behind the reason of his death.

Witnesses said several injury marks and signs of electric shock were noticed in their bodies. It is still unknown how they were killed.

Locals besieged the house of the owner of the shrimp enclosure immediately after recovering the bodies. Later, police personnel took two workers of the enclosure to their custody for interrogation and brought the situation under control.

Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mosiur Rahman said several injury marks were noticed in the bodies of the deceased. However, the exact reason behind the death will be known after the autopsy report. Two workers of the shrimp enclosure were taken to police custody for interrogation, he added.
