Tributes to the victims who were killed by militant attack at histroric Sholakia Eidgah before the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation were paid on a check post in front of the Mufti Mohammad Ali Jame Mosque adjacent to Azim Uddin High School on the west side of Sholakia Eidgah on Tuesday morning (07 July). On this occasion, the victims were commemorated with a bouquets of flowers.
Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled laid a wreath at the temporary shrine built in memory of the victims.
Later he paid a courtesy call on the families of those killed in the militant attack. In that time Additional Police Super Md. Mizanur Rahman, Additional Police Super Masud Anowar, Additional Police Super Anirban Chowhdury, Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Bakkar Siddique and others officials were also present.
It may be remembered that the militant attack took place in front of the mosque adjacent to Azim Uddin High School on the west side of Sholakia Eidgah before the Eid Jamaat started on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr on July 7, 2016.
Police constables Ansarul Haque, Zahirul Islam, housewife Jharna Rani Bhowmik, wife of local resident Gouranga Debnath and a militant named Abir Rahman, who took part in the attack, were killed on the spot.
