On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a tree planting program has been inaugurated at Ishwardi in Pabna as part of the one crore tree sapling program across the country. The program was inaugurated at 10:30 am on Thursday.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Ishwardi Social Forest Garden Center, in collaboration with the Social Forest Department, Pabna, the Ishwardi Upazila Administration organised the tree planting program. Upazila Parishad Chairman Nuruzzaman Biswas inaugurated the tree planting program organised at the upazila premises.
UNO Shihab Raihan, Upazila Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Secondary Education Officer Selim Akhter, Social Service Officer Khandaker Masud Rana, Forrester Social Forest Department Pabna Md. Ismail Hossain and others were present.
Forrester Ismail Hossain said 20,325 fruit, forest and medicinal tree saplings would be distributed in Ishwardi Upazila on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To this end, Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday inaugurated the one crore tree planting program across the country in Dhaka and the program was officially inaugurated at Ishwardi.
