Railways Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan on Tuesday gave a hint of adding some changes and additional facilities to the online train ticketing system.
He said, “There was a presentation today. We got a vast idea. A diagnostic has been done on the railway ticketing system.
He came up with the disclosure at a press conference on route rationalization of Bangladesh Railway and ensuring transparency and accountability in e-ticketing system at Rail Bhavan.
Fouzul Kabir Khan said, Chaldal executive officer Wasim Ali, Daffodil University teacher Dr. Fizar Ahmed and Anika Zara - were present today. They discussed different things.
He said, in their presentation, it was seen that the tickets sought from Kamalapur were not there. But the tickets were in Tejgaon. Again there is no ticket for the 7 o'clock train but there is a ticket for the 10 o'clock train. However, its status is not known.
Instructions have been given to Sahaj-Synesis-Vincen JV, the subsidiary of Bangladesh railway ticket sales, Railways adviser said that from now on passengers can see when, where and from which station tickets are available. Sahaj said, it will be active in next two-three days. Otherwise, you will complain.
He said, there are many officials in the railway. But it is no one's private property. It is the property of the people. It is not that the railway secretary, minister has urgent work and others do not. We want to return the country to common people.
Ticket distribution via verbal or telephone will be stopped from now on. Tickets are also allotted from different stations. Now if it is not sold at one station it will be available from another station. We instructed it to Shohoj. We have decided on these issues.
We want to get the root of the problem. Everyone says this government does nothing. But it will take time. We have been trying to go to the depth of the problem.
Replying to a question of journalist he said, "We don't have enough locomotive coaches." We are working on them.
Stating that the railway route will be rationalized, he said that trains are going where there are no passengers. Where there are passengers, there are no trains. Separate measures will be taken on the routes where expatriates go, such as Dhaka-Sylhet, Dhaka-Chittagong.
The advisor said, it was found that tickets are not available online. But tickets are available in the black market for 200 or 300 taka. This issue has been discussed. Strict action will be taken against those who engage in black market. Strict action will be taken against those railway people.
