Train services all over the country remained suspended for several days all over the country due to the unrest caused by quota reformation movement. However, Rajshahi Commuter train started operation after 13 long days on Thursday.
The Rajshahi Commuter Train carried passengers of Tangail, starting it journey from Ishwardi Rail Station at 6:30 in the morning. It reached Tangail at 11:15 am. The police force is active to provide safety to the passengers of the train. Special measures were taken for the safety of the train and the train station.
Station Master of Tangail Rail Station Toriqul Islam said train services remained suspended since July 19 due to volatile situation of the country. However, a decision was made to start the operation of local trains. A train will resume its operation on Dhaka-Ishwardi route for the time being.
The station master said that Rajshahi Commuter Train started its journey from Ishwardi Train Station at 6:30 in the morning. It was supposed to reach Tangail at 8:40 am. But it reached its destination at 11:15 am.
He also said that there are enough law enforcement forces in the train. Moreover, the train station is under the watch of police members. He expressed his hope that the people of Tangail will be able to ride the train without any problem.
