A young man was killed after being hit by a train at Jurain railgate area in the capital on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Akash Sheikh, 26, son of Akber Sheikh of Dastardia Village in Modhukhali Upazila of Faridpur.
Officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station Mohammad Ferdous Ahmed confirmed the matter.
He said a Kamlapur-bound train hit Akash at the area when he was walking on the rail track, leaving him dead on the spot.
Being informed, we recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he added.
