A Narayanganj trader who had gone missing for three months was found dead on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Hekmat Ali, 45, son of Kodom Ali, resident of Bhulta area and a trader of motorcycle and vehicle parts at Noor mansion market in the area.
Hekmat’s widow Roksana Begum said that her husband and his nephew as well as manager of his shop Rafiqul Islam Sobuj went to Demra area in the city to choose a bride for Sobujon on April 4.
Sobuj returned home without Hekmat Ali and couldn’t give a reason behind Hekmat's disappearance, which raised doubt in the minds of Hekmat's family members.
After 10 days into disappearing Hekmat’s wife filed an abduction case with Rupganj police on April 14 accusing nephew Rafiqul Islam Sobuj and four others.
A few days ago, the petitioner moved a petition before the court to shift the investigation from Rupganj police station to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Narayanganj.
According to court direction, the PBI unearthed the body after investigation. Sub-Inspector Abu Sayem of Narayanganj PBI has been investigating the case.
Police Super of Narayanganj PBI, ARM Ali said, one of the accused was arrested until now and the other accused will be arrested soon.
