The import and export activities through Benapole land Port will remain suspended from October 23 to October 26 on the occasion of Durga Puja, one of the largest religious festivals of the Hindus.
Import-export between India and Bangladesh will remain halted from the morning of October 23 to October 26 due to the Durga Puja holiday on the Indian side, Benapole Customs Deputy Commissioner Belal Hossain told Bangladesh Post.
Other port activities including loading and unloading of goods, Customs House operations and passenger movement between Bangladesh and India will remain normal during the holiday, he added.
Trade between the two countries will resume from the morning of October 27, Hossain said.
At present, nearly 400 trucks carrying goods enter Bangladesh through Benapole land port, accounting 80 percent of imported-goods coming from India.
