Sylhet Strikers batter Towhid Hridoy has been advised to take at least two weeks of break after sustaining a penetrating wound while fielding against Dhaka Dominators on Tuesday.
The incident happened in 11.2 overs during Dhaka Dominators chase. Rejaur Rahman Raja was the bowler with Dhaka batter Nasir Hossain on strike. Hridoy was fielding at point.
Hridoy received eight stitches and the medical team advised two weeks’ rest with dressing and follow-up every alternative day.
Towhid is the current top-scorer of BPL with 195 runs in three innings, with an average of 65 at a strike rate of 166.7. He also struck three consecutive fifties for Sylhet, who remained unbeaten in the first phase of Dhaka.
