At least 30 lakh taka worthy of wealth has been stolen by unknown thieves from an expatriate’s house at Banglabazar under Fatulla police station on Friday noon.
According to house owner Giasuddin’s wife Nasrin Akter, some unknown thieves broke open the door of her flat and ransacked all furniture and stole cash 4.5 lakh taka, 35 tola of gold ornaments and 9 costly android cell phones.
Nasrin told the media that she and her family members lived in the second floor of a 5 storied building. Her husband is in Kuwait.
On Friday noon at around 2 PM Nasrin’s whole family went to attend a marriage ceremony and returned her resident at around 4:30 PM and then she found the door of her flat was broken and all almeria, lockers, wardrobes were broken, and hard cash, gold ornaments, cell phones etc were stolen.
On information, a sub-inspector Shariful Islam of Fatulla police station rushed to the spot and conducted initial investigation and made a list of stolen goods.
Sub-Inspector Shariful Islam told that house owner’s wife Nasrin came to police station at Saturday preparing to file a case in this connection.
Officer-In-Charge of Fatulla model police station Aslam Hossain told that Nasrin came on Friday night to the police station with an incomplete application thus the case was not recorded on Friday night.
However, drug peddling, snatching, extortion and other criminal activities have increased in the Banglabazar area because there are more drug peddlers who are wanted in ten to sixteen criminal cases.
No case was yet filed till writing the report.
