Tk 166cr tax collected in Chandpur

Chandpur has set a tax collection of Tk 166 crore in 3 circles of Cumilla tax zone in the current financial year. Chandpur sub-tax commission office disclosed the information. Taka 96 crore 20 lakh tax was collected in 3 circles in Chandpur district till June 30 of the last financial year. But the tax collection target for that year was Tk 155 crore. There are 23 thousand 549 taxpayers under the sub-zone.

Chandpur Sadar of Circle 18 set a target to collect the salary of all public and private officials and a portion of Chandpur Sadar's tax collection is 110 crores. Collection till June 30 of the financial year 2020-21 is Tk 68 crore. The number of taxpayers listed in it is 14 thousand. The tax collection target of Circle 19 is Tk 30 crore. Till June 30 of the last financial year, the collection was Tk. 14 crore and 14 lakh.The number of taxpayers listed in it is 3 thousand 130. The tax collection target of Circle 21 Hajiganj is Tk 14 crore 6 lakh. Till June 30 of the last financial year, the collection was Tk 14 crore 6 lakh. The number of taxpayers listed in it is 6 thousand 4 hundred and 19.

According to information, Chandpur tax zone is divided into 3 parts. These are: Circle 18, 19 and 21. Circle 18 is the salary of all public and private officials of Chandpur Sadar, a part of Chandpur Sadar, Circle 19 is Matlab North, Matlab South, Haimchar and Chandpur Sadar. Circle 21 is Kachua, Shahrasti and Hajiganj upazilas. It is known that taxpayers file income tax returns mostly in May and June. The last date for submission of returns was 30 November 2020. After this, according to section 124 of the Tax Act, there is a provision to impose a fine of 1000 taka on the day after payment of tax and Tk 50 per day from the following day. Currently, it has been extended to June 30 due to the Corona situation.
