A student of Government Titumir College died of mosquito-borne dengue fever on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Kamal, a student of English department at the college and hailed from Chandpur. Family sources said he died around 7:30pm at a hospital at Mirpur in the capital.
Mehedi had been staying at a resident in city's Mugdapara area. An on-duty doctor of the hospital said Mehedi was admitted to the hospital with the viral fever on August 19. His blood platelet count fell down far below and he died while undergoing treatment, the doctor added.
