Existing Titas and Buri River is now under threat. As there is no navigability of Titas River, the communication with Nabinagar to other parts of the country is going to be difficult. Meanwhile, passengers are in deep trouble. Launches and big trawlers cannot ply on the river. It is found that, a wooden boat meant to be lost due to the navigability of the Titas River flowing along the eastern side of Nabinagar municipality, stuck in front of the "Manawabur Ghat" of the Titas River.
Launches cannot ply from Nabinagar to Brahmanbaria, Bhairab, Narsingdi. As a result, import of goods from other upazilas and districts in high price. Hundreds of passengers were seen waiting for high tide to ply on launch.
Passengers said, "We are trapped because of the sudden stop of launch." Children and patients are in deep trouble. Launch operators Hanif and alam said when the Titas River was dug in Nabinagar and the water was low in the river, 25 of our launches were on the way. On one side of Titas, the threat of crossing the two launches simultaneously threatens to reduce the width of the river.

On this side, the Buri River adjacent to Titas, 4 km from Nabinagar to Kaliganj, has dried up the river. Besides, thousands of acres of land are facing water crisis for Iri, Boro paddy harvest. During the tide in the river Buri, the pump machines of the Eri Boro scheme were run off, while the pump machines were shut down during the flood.
However, Upazila Chairman Md Moniruzzaman Monir said dredging work of Titas and Buri River is underway but the problem is the branches of the Buri River sometimes make interruption of dredging. Local MP Ebedul Karim Bulbul sid the branches of Buri River are thin and cannot be cut with a dredger. However, the excavation will start soon.
