The Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team will take on the Pakistan Women's team in the first of a three-match ODI series under the ICC Women's Championship at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

Tigresses won the T-20 series against Pakistan by 2-1 in October. It was the first ever series win for Bangladesh over the women in green.

Bangladesh lost to Pakistan in the warm-up match by 56 runs at the same venue on Thursday. Therefore, skipper Nigar Sultana Joty and Co. have to face a tough challenge against their opponents.

The top order of the women in Red and Green must come good at their top-order batting; if the opening partnership manages a big score, it would be better for the team.

Murshida scored fifty; Farzana and LataMondol also showed better performances in the warm-up match, but unfortunately, they lost the game. Therefore, the skipper and her team members must be extra cautious before getting onto the field.

Pakistan batters tackled the bowlers smoothly and managed 270 runs on the board. Bangladeshi bowlers have to keep this in mind, and their target will be to send Pakistani batters back into the pavilion as soon as possible.

Bangladesh women have won nine encounters over Pakistan women so far.

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team, which entered the top ten in the global rankings, played 57 ODIs until October 31, 2023, including bilateral and trilateral series'.

The team has won 15 ODI matches so far; five matches remain without results, and one match resulted in a draw. Bangladesh's women’s team is now ranked eighth in the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings.
