Bangladesh national cricket team returned home on Friday after an embarrassing exit from the ‘Super Eight’ of the Men’s ICC T20 World Cup.

Despite their performance stand in for the best-ever in the T20 World Cup for the Tigers in their ninth attempt, with a record three wins in the group stage – against Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Nepal, frustrated the thousands of fans and experts with demonstrating dubious performances against Afghanistan in the ‘Super Eight’ phase.

While having glorious opportunity chance to qualify in the semifinal, Bangladesh have returned home from the West Indies on Friday morning following shocking exit.

However, the vice-captain of Bangladesh Taskin Ahmed talked to the reporters on their arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport said, “Not fair to see negative side only.”

Tigers, although advanced to the second round, they could not fire up as a collective unit, specially, the batters failures caused the elimination from the ‘Super Eight’ phase.

Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tigers disappointed woeful performances, lacking intent and courage.

It was the worst display from Shanto & Co. in the last match (Super Eight) against Afghanistan in Saint Vincent on Wednesday, that saw a weird attitude from the players, as well as the team management, that resulted the Tigers’ to have a historic entrance in the semifinals.

Taskin Ahmed, the pace spearhead of Bangladesh and the deputy of the captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto, asked everyone not to focus on the negative aspects when the team arrived back in the country just days after their exit from the T20 World Cup following a defeat in the last outing to Afghanistan in the Super Eights stage.

Interestingly, Tigers grabbed three wins of four matches in the first phase and suffered as many matches in the ‘Super Eight’ phase when they squandered a realistic chance of making the semifinals.

But three wins in seven games, they played in this tournament are the most successful T20 World Cup performance for Bangladesh to date.

Taskin, who also agreed that their performances were below standard but there are also some positive sides, as he said, “Actually we are in minus, will have to make it plus. First time we played in the ‘Super Eight,’ that is positive. But there have some negative sides also. All are disappointed failing to accomplish the expectations. We are also frustrated not having the expected result.”

“We are improving gradually. From the start of our journey in Twenty20 cricket, our stats have not been good. It's not fair to focus only on the negative side. We were already in the minus zone, but we have been giving our best,’ Taskin revealed while talking to the reporters right after landing in Dhaka.
