Pace bowler Taskin Ahmed, recently named vice-captain of the Bangladesh Cricket World Cup squad, is confident that the team will progress to the Super Eight stage. He acknowledges the initial challenges posed by matches against Sri Lanka and South Africa but emphasizes the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket. Taskin highlights his own recovery from injury and expresses his determination to contribute to the team's success.
The right-handed pacer claims about his injury, “I feel very good. I became the vice-captain of the team. I remember one thing. Before the 2019 World Cup, I left the stadium upset. In another World Cup, the team announcement was delayed for me and I joined two days later. I will try to respect this attitude. It's a proud moment for me.”
The World Cup kicks off on 2nd June with a match between the host nation, USA, and Canada. Bangladesh will begin their campaign on 8th June against Sri Lanka, followed by a clash with South Africa. Their final group stage fixtures will see them face Netherlands and Nepal. Before departing for the USA, the Tigers will play three T20 matches against the hosts on 21st, 23rd, and 25th May. Additionally, they have
scheduled two official warm-up matches, one each against the USA and India
