Tigers’ Afghan tour postponed

Bangladesh men’s national cricket team tour of Afghanistan in July has been postponed, Chairman of cricket operations of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Jalal Yunus confirmed it on Saturday.   

The Tigers were scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and as many T20Is against Afghanistan in the UAE following the completion of the ICC men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 in June in the USA. 

Jalal Yunus said, “The away series against Afghanistan will be rescheduled after both the boards agreeing to play the series at some other of time.”

Earlier, the two-match Test series at home against Zimbabwe was also rescheduled, as both the country also agreed to play five T20Is in May as a preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup.  

Najmul Hossain Shanto's troops will have a busy schedule after the T20 World Cup, as they will tour Pakistan for two Tests and then the Tigers will travel to India to play as many Tests and three T20Is. 

After hosting South Africa for a two-match Test series in November-December 2024, when Tigers will also have an all-format tour of the West Indies which will feature with two Tests, three ODIs and as many ODIs.
