Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) trainer Nick Lee was satisfied with the cricketers’ performance in the Yo-Yo test which was held on Thursday at Mirpur Indoor Stadium.

BCB selected a pool of 32 cricketers for the fitness test which was held on July 29. Following that, BCB selected 21-22 cricketers who took the Yo-Yo Test and will take part in the skill camp which will begin on August 8 in Dhaka.

The standard score for the fitness test was set at 18.6. Nazmul Hossain Shanto obtained the maximum score of 19.5 in this fitness test and young pacer Tanzim Sakib got 19.3.

“Considering the heat and the conditions and the fact that they've had the last couple of weeks off, all in all I'm happy with their (Yo Yo Test) results. As the camp progresses, we might test them again to see their progress before going to Sri Lanka. So here it is, This is what we have been doing for the past few days,” said Nick Lee.

“Without looking at the data, from what I have in my head, everyone's performance (in Tests) was pretty much the same. There were also cricketers who hadn't been around the national team recently or were injured or out of the team. They were slightly less. There was. But overall, no one was slow. Everyone was in roughly the same bracket,” he said.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Taskin Ahmed will undergo Yo-Yo Test following their break as the duo participated in the Zim-Afro T-10 League. Shakib al Hasan and other cricketers who are busy in franchise leagues will take Yo-Yo Test separately.

“Those who have played in foreign leagues... Taskin and Mushfiqur, will rest and do the (Yo Yo Test) after 2 days. To overcome travel fatigue and match pressure. We are planning to do it on the weekend. Litton, who is in Canada, will return after few days. We will think about Shakib, Shoriful and Hridoy who are in Sri Lanka before going to the Asia Cup,” he added.
