The second day of the World Cup was another thrilling encounter. The match between Oman and Namibia in Barbados was tied, Namibia eventually won the Super Over. Some records are as follows:

This is only the fourth tie in the T20 World Cup, the first since 2012. Before Oman and Namibia, the last World Cup tie was between New Zealand and West Indies. New Zealand also tied with Sri Lanka in that tournament. However, the Kiwis lost both matches in super overs. The first tie in the World Cup was in 2007, when the India-Pakistan match was settled by a bowl-out as was then the rule. India won.

This is the first tie match in the history of Namibia. Second in the history of Oman. Their first tie came in November last year, against Nepal in Kirtipur. It was the final of the Asian region qualifiers of the World Cup, Oman won the Super Over. Tie again in the first match of the World Cup, this time, however, the result was not in their favor in the Super Over. Bilal Khan defended 21 runs in the super over in that match, this time the left-arm pacer gave those 21 runs by bowling first.

This is the second match tied at West Indies soil. The previous incident is also of two allied countries. In 2021, the match between Canada and the United States was tied in the qualifiers of the American region of the T20 World Cup.

Both teams played 238 balls. 218 runs were scored in the match. There have been three instances of fewer runs in tied matches. But in none of those three, so many balls were played.

Six Omani batsmen were lbw in the innings. That's a record in men's T20 Internationals. Prior to this, there have been three incidents of maximum 5 lbw in an innings - Netherlands (vs Sri Lanka, Sharjah 2021), Scotland (vs Afghanistan, Sharjah 2021) and Netherlands (vs Zimbabwe, Bulawayo 2022). LBW became one of Namibia's today, the match record was narrowly missed. Highest 8 lbw incidents in 2022 match between Netherlands and Zimbabwe Bulawayo.
