Three robbers held with arms in Noakhali

The police have arrested three members of inter-district robber gang, including its kingpin Yusuf Prakash Chora Kala, during a raid in Noakhali town area. 

During the raid, one shooter gun, five cartridges, different tools used for robbery and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were seized from them.

A court sent the suspected robbers to the district jail on Wednesday afternoon. 

Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Mortahin Billah arranged a press conference in this regard at Sudharam Model Police Station.

The arrested persons are Yusuf, 34, son of Tashir Ahmed of Chandraganj area in Laxmipur district, Abdul Mannan Sohag Badda, 30, son of Nizam Uddin of Khulshi area in Chattogram, and Farooq Hossain, 32, son of Sahab Uddin of Bhuiyapara village in Matiranga area under Khagrachhari district.

According to the police, a group of robbers under the leadership of Yusuf was preparing for a robbery in the area adjacent to Kiran Hotel in Noakhali district town. A team of Sudharam Model Police Station raided the area adjacent to Kiran Hotel on the basis of secret information on Tuesday night. On sensing the presence of the police, the members of the robbers tried to run away with CNG-run auto-rickshaw. Realising the matter, the police chased them and arrested three people. After searching their bodies, a shooter gun and five cartridges were seized.

The Additional Superintendent of Police said the arrested robbers were involved in robberies in different parts of the district. During the daytime, they visit different areas with the CNG-run auto-rickshaw and commit robbery at night. During preliminary interrogation, they confessed to the robbery. There are multiple cases filed against the arrested persons with different police stations of Noakhali and Laxmipur districts. In this incident, two separate cases have been filed against them.
