The district administration and health department in Chuadanga have sealed a private hospital, diagnostic centre and pharmacy at Sarojganj and Dingedah Bazar in Sadar upazila and also fined them for irregularities.
The three private healthcare facilities are BRM Hospital and Diagnostic Centre at Sarojganj, Moon Diagnostic Centre and Crescent Pharmacy at Dingedah Bazar.
Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) SM Ashish Momtaz conducted the mobile court on Monday afternoon. He was assisted by Chuadanga Civil Surgeon Dr Sajjat Hasan and Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Auliar Rahman.
The mobile court carried out a drive at Sarojganj Bazar and sealed BRM Hospital and Diagnostic Centre. The same doctor was performing operations and running caesarean and anaesthesia sections there. Various irregularities have also been found in the lab setup. Due to the irregularities, the healthcare centre was sealed and its owner was fined Tk 5,000.
Moon Diagnostic Centre has been sealed at Sarojganj Bazar due to various irregularities.
Besides, Crescent Pharmacy was sealed by raiding Dingedah market of Sadar upazila.
Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Auliar Rahman said that a joint drive was conducted by the district administration and health department. During the drive, three institutions have been sealed and the owners of some institutions have been warned. This campaign will continue, he said.
