Football is drowning in three crises. First, the financial crisis. Along with this, there is politicization involvement and corruption in the federation and District Sports Association.
There is no substitute of getting rid of the obstacles for investing in success in football. Bangladesh football Federation (BFF) could not understand it. When they came to realize it, the train ran across the distant destination. Football has never received big funds even though it is understood.
What government assistance has received is insufficient. In addition to FIFA and AFC's grants, the federation has raised funds on its own initiative. That's where the football of Bangladesh lies. Not getting rid of worst situation. It is also decreased FIFA ranking last forty years.
Football still has a treasury. After seeing the government's shaking, it seems that this time the allocation will be more in the sports budget, but that's an old story. The budget increases slightly. More allocations are for infrastructure construction and renovation, rather than in training, producing coaches to develop the footballers’ skills. There is no end to questions about the purpose of those constructions. So many stadiums were constructed and renovated in different districts across the country. But the local organisers are have been failing to organize their local leagues and tournaments due to lack of funds, as the cows graze in the fields.
Corruption occurs in the name of infrastructure constructions or renovations. And federation have long been caught in the net of ugly politics.
Political leaders from the grassroots to the central level consider the federation as the 'Kohinoor' of their political career.
Now, it is necessary to include the persons in the organizations, in the investor category from the upazila-district level instead of political personalities. There are lot of businessmen in the country who are also sports enthusiasts, they should be appointed in the top posts of sports organisations.
Giving space to all of them in their own local sports organization will facilitate the way of organizing sports at the local level. The few categories mentioned in the new rules will find it difficult for them to sponsor the Games.
