Three people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital early Friday.
Two youths named Rahul, 26, and his younger brother Rafi died after a sand-laden truck coming from opposite direction crashed their motorcycle near the Pallabi Kalshi Bridge area.
Uncle of the deceased said Rahul and Rafi were going toward the Kalshi Bridge on a motorcycle. Both of them fell on the road after the truck hit their vehicle early Friday.
Locals rescued the critically injured and took them to Kurmitola General Hospital. But later, they were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rahul dead. Rafi is now undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Another person named Afzal, 25, resident of Fulbaria of Mymensingh, died after a pick-up van overturned on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Khilkhet area of the capital on Friday.
Brother of the victim said Afzal worked at an event management. The pick-up van carrying Afzal overturned after losing control over the steering in the area. Critically injured Afzal was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, has acknowledged the both matters.
