Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested three youths red handed while making bombs from a house in Jurain Railway Gate area in the capital on Friday midnight.
The arrested are- M. Abul Kashem, 35, of Daspara village, Fazle Rabbi, 27, of Saharmor village and Alamgir Hossain, 30, resident of Karpasha village under Nikli Police Station of Kishoreganj district.
RAB senior assistant director Md Arifur Rahman said at a press briefing on Saturday afternoon, “Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-3 conducted a raid at a house near Jurain Railway Gate adjacent slum area on Friday midnight and arrested them while they were making bombs”. At that time, RAB seized 30 cocktails, 28 petrol bombs and 6 tapes from their possession, Md Arifur Rahman said.
“The arrested persons confessed that a group of miscreants planned a major sabotage in the capital to destabilize the law and order situation ahead of 12th National Parliamentary election’, he added.
A case has been filed against the arrested persons with Shyampur Police Station and they have been handed over to the police," the RAB-3 official added.
